Try as I might, the holidays always leave me a little stressed about what to give others. It’s always on my mind … what will make a special, meaningful gift? I’m especially inclined to look for gifts that I can make myself or that require extra effort on my part as long as they’re not cheesy.
For example, you wouldn’t want a knitted sweater (or anything knitted, if you’re wise) from me. And all those Black Friday (which has really become “Destroy Thanksgiving Thursday”) sales? They comepletely stress me out. I love a good deal, for sure, but I hardly ever remember what I bought on Black Friday and gave to others.
This week I had a beautiful reminder of what true giving is all about. This kind of giving can be done any time of the year. And … it’s free.
