There’s something romantic about rural living … and then there’s not. It’s easy to forget about things like snowstorms, windstorms, and now … a firestorm.

Before moving back home after 30+ years in the city, we visited every summer. Extreme fire dangers and days filled with smoke and unbreathable air are nothing new to us.

This year tho’ … there’s been nothing like it … and it came upon us so fast.
