“For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” I Peter 2:25 ESV
Father,
I need a Shepherd. I am a sheep, prone to wander, prone to get into dumb, even dangerous situations.
I pray for the humility to return to You … to trust You.
Thank you that You know everything my heart needs. You know how to take good care of my soul …
Why do I so often fight against You?I pray for the friend out there who thinks they have wandered too far … who is so covered with the messes of life that they don’t even look like a sheep any more … may they know that You see them still … Your Shepherd’s staff is long enough to reach even them. Your kindness is for all who will reach out and take it.
I pray for Your church in this very turbulent world … before we try to be the light shining on a hilltop … may we be willing to be sheep who acknowledge that we need a Good Shepherd. Forgive us our pride and our indifference … and carelessly following fake Shepherds because it seemed easier … or for trying to be our own Shepherds.
Thank you for how much you love each of us and for Your generous forgiveness. It truly is amazing. In Jesus Name

I am devoting much of this year to joining with others in prayer, so am therefore filling my social media pages with requests like this. I invite you to join along with prayers and requests of your own. Join in silently or add to the comments.
It is an awesome thing to watch the Lord at work through the prayers of His children.
Blessed,
Shelly
