Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is His ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, He has turned away and will not listen anymore. Your hands are the hands of murderers, and your fingers are filthy with sin. Your lips are full of lies, and your mouth spews corruption.Isaiah 59:1-3 NLT

“Violence will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there.”Isaiah 60:18 NLT

Father in Heaven,
I long for the fulfillment of this promise. Right now, violence owns our culture more and more every day. A war on police … senseless murders of innocent people … domestic issues … theft … anger … the threat of wars between nations.

I pray for those who have given into violence. This can’t be how they envisioned their lives; what they dreamed of becoming.

They must feel so trapped.

Father, set the captives free … reach the angriest of hearts … the most bitter of souls. Somewhere out there, at this moment there is someone who is tired of it … who wants to be free from the ball and chain of bitterness, guilt, and shame they drag around. You are waiting, ready to wrap them in arms of love and forgiveness.

I pray that all across this country, in cities … in suburbs … and in tiny, unheard of towns, that Your Holy Spirit will draw people out of the most violent of situations and save them.

Please heal our land, Lord … heal our hearts.

In Jesus Name

I am devoting much of this year to joining with others in prayer, so am therefore filling my social media pages with requests like this. I invite you to join along with prayers and requests of your own. Join in silently or add to the comments.

It is an awesome thing to watch the Lord at work through the prayers of His children.

Blessed,

Shelly
