Sometimes Spring looks like Fall.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected – a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on Him and looked the other way. He was despised and we did not care.

Father,
Spring is slow to come this year. It is as if nature feels too, the dark heaviness of my heart over the senselessness I see in this world.

Headlines of senseless, horrific crimes every day. Anger and foolishness at every turn.

How stubborn the human heart is ….how prone to wander … and yet You, as a man of sorrows, are not indifferent to the sadness our stubbornness causes.

Teach me how to pray in these days and how to love. My heart is impatient, bitter even.

But You have not forgotten us. You are a promise keeper. You are Holy. Wise. Trustworthy. Your Word is an anchor.

I give You these days, Lord, and ask that help my heart and Your Church to stay steadfast.

Psalm 116:1, 2
I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.
Because He bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath!

Amen
